PERU SUMMARY – 2010
My visit to Peru was a Spanish Immersion trip as part of my Spanish courses at Fox Valley Technical College.
We had some flight issues on our way there and ended up with a night in Columbia that wasn’t part of the initial trip.
We arrived in Lima, where we stayed a night and saw a little of the city. It also happened to be my birthday, so a few cocktails were had. My instructor had a home in Lima, where we had a fabulous meal.
Our main destination for this trip was up in the mountains in Cusco where the Amauta Spanish School was located.
We stayed with host families and happened to be in Cusco during Inti Rami. Willie and Kati were my “host parents”, they had two children, Valerie and Jaquin and a live-in helper, Morena. Our trip included a day trip to Machu Picchu, which cannot be described, it’s one of those places that just takes your breath away.
