Lake Balaton is the largest lake in central Europe. I was lucky enough to see the lake from two different locations with two different couchsurfing hosts.
During my visit to Veszprém, I was taken to Balatonfüred along the promenade. Lots of shops and restaurants, huge park area surrounding the State Heart Hospital.
While in Keszthely, my hosts took me down by the lake to try a Hungarian staple, Lángos. A fried dough with topping options, it was good. We also hit the table tennis tables a couple of nights in the fitness park along the lake.

Vonyarcvashegyi Szent Mihály-kápolna
This is a small church overlooking Lake Balaton. My couchsurfing hosts were married here. There is also an unsual cemetary with narrow pathways.
