Štramberk is a small town that lies at the foot of the Beskydy Mountains in the Moravian-Silesian Region and is known for it’s Štramberk Ears, a Moravian confectionary. Since 2007, Štramberk was awarded the Protected Designation of Origin of Status from the EU for it’s ears. It’s an interesting story, to the right is a photo of the pan they cook the ears in, and below is a link about the ears.

Štramberk Castle
Hrad Štramberk - Saxon-Hesse Fortress Ruins
This old castle is of unknown origin founded in the late 13th century. The only remains include some fortifications and the gothic castle tower called the Trúba Tower, which is now used as an observation platform to view the surrounding Beskydy Mountains.
