I arrived in Veszprém via train from Budapest on May 11, 2018. My stay there was with a lovely lady couchsurfing host. She kept me on the go. We checked out the Gizella Days Art Festival, took a trip to Balatonfüred to see Lake Balaton, a day trip with her ‘adopted son’ and his freind that included Salföld, Sümeg, Tapolca and Tihany.

My host had to work a few of the days I stayed, we’d meet for lunch and she would help me order some authentic Hungarian dishes at a cafeteria lunch counter. They do some pretty good stuff to pork. One day while she worked, I met up with a Facebook friend from the Hungary Exchange – Hungarian Genealogy Group. She showed me her husband’s violin shop, and we took a tour of the Dohnányi Ernő Zeneművészeti Szakgimnázium, a school of music where she teaches.
