My visit to the Isle of Skye was during my first solo trip to Scotland in 2018. I joined two ladies on Couchsurfing that were looking for other travelers to join them in renting a car and driving to the Isle. Kirsty, who lives in Sri Lanka was the driver as she had previously lived in Scotland and was used to the opposite side driving; and Anna was from Austria. It was just the three of us.

We arrived pretty late, they had a Couchsurfing host to stay with and I was lucky to get a spot in a hostel.

We stopped in Luss, the Clan Colquhoun village, for lunch and explored a bit. Our next stop was at the Falls of Falloch, then Glencoe, Fort William and Glenfinnan. Just before crossing the bridge to the island, we stopped for dinner at an Indian restaurant, which was very brave for me. I did find something simple and I even liked it.

Our main trips while on the Isle of Skye included the Old Man of Storr, a stop at the Talisker Distillery in Carbost, the fairy pools, Neist Point, and Raasay Island.
